Definitely not, not Maybe

I drank beer today. Not unusual considering it's one of my favorite byproducts of microscopic organisms farting and crapping out otherwise unlikable resources like wheat and water. Things that really are no good without some sort of alteration. In this case, fairly major ones.
I had these beers early in the day, which is the best time to drink, you know, to get an early start on a happy ending to my day off. But, they were consumed after watching a movie: Definitely, Maybe.
I saw this movie with another man. I was consequently accused of being “gay.” I found this accusation humorous considering my secondary, though decisive, motives for watching the film. How it was “gay” to see this movie with another dude is beyond me. It seems gay in a way, I guess. But it was a heterosexual film, with good actors, a good story, and many attractive women. Again, how is this gay?
“Gay” involves various physical activities in which I have never engaged, a sexual preference not reflecting my own, and a sense of style and manor equal to or better than Clinton Kelly’s (something I have never been accused of having).
So, why is it not "gay" to see this film with a guy and not a gal? I really have no suitable answer. A lot of people think it is. I am convinced otherwise. I don't know why, but its not.

Man, don't you get it? Your "friend", whoever said seeing the movie with another guy was, like most of America, just homophobic. They have issues. If you're insecure, listen to them. If you're secure, however, go on with your life--enjoy it, even--and don't pay attention to small-minded chuckleheads. (Not that there's anything wrong with being gay).

Well, I got that opinion from several people. Most of whom are not homophobes. Your right though, making a general statement or accusation is a small-minded chuckelhead thing to do. I thought it was funny and I get their point

Similar to saying most Americans are homophobic.

Bye Bye Mr. Stinky

I was a special education teacher. Matter of fact, I taught Special Education for four-and-a-half years. I taught some non-verbal kiddos how to read, increased the diversity in their diets, taught them games and social skills, and–what I am most proud of–I helped kids out of diapers, who were well past the time to meet that milestone… And let me tell you, that is not always an easy task. It is always a rewarding task. Find the carrot By carrot, I mean the motivation for doing something that is not preferred; for example, if you want to buy a beer, but you have no money, you might help a friend move. Moving is a total garbage activity, but he may pay you and buy you beer; if you know how to negotiate, you will get an unhealthy amount of pizza too. BAM! You had no money; now you have pizza, beer, and money, because you leveraged your time and effort. Potty training is no different. The kiddos usually don't know how to leverage their time and resources to get what t...

A Short Thought on Hockey

I used to loath sports I found them to be arbitrarily exciting, nothing real worth my time. When I found hockey, my opinion changed. I was in the 14th row from the ice, five days ago, when San Jose Sharks defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-4. It was a glorious match and the excitement still flows through my veins.

BPA and Autism Spectrum Disorder

Officescope.com Autism Spectrum Disorder is simply defined as a communicative and social disorder. However, there is no simple answer to how one should educate a student with ASD. The symbol for autism is a puzzle piece: this symbol is a perfect metaphor, because the method of educating someone with ASD is a puzzle, but so the cause. I believe environmental factors from our modern era of chemicals and artificial foods and products can have a huge impact on neurodevelopment. In addition to this, modern humankind has a diet eccentric to biological tradition, which may play a roll in how the human body (and mind) develops. And, this diet is buttressed through technology that is dependent and integrated with chemicals that are unique to our era. A few years ago, the Huffington Post published this article  that references a study, which links BPA to ASD. Last year CNN:Health linked similar findings. The University of Virginia found BPA had an immediate effect on the social life...
